Offset And I Won’t Be Getting Married Soon – Cardi B

Following their engagement rumour in October 2017, many expected Cardi B and Offset to make the connection in the near future. But from their recent interviews, it seems that there are no plans to rush to the altar now.

Talk to ENews! Cardi B explained why the wedding planning is postponed for the moment.

She said:

“You want to know the thing about is. I really want to get married around the fall time, I love the fall time,” But, I keep getting, ‘Do you want to do tour around this time?’ ‘Hey do you want to do this around this time?’ And it’s just like—I’m touring, I’m putting out an album.

He’s touring, putting out an album.”She also added that planning a proper wedding and honeymoon would take some time

“It’s not only about the wedding date. It’s not just one day. It’s gotta be a whole almost two weeks type of thing.

MUST READ – The Mistakes Singer Mr Eazi Has Made That Has Downgraded His Musical Career

The case of Mr Eazi can be compared to someone who has fallen into disfavor. A few years ago, in 2016, to be exact, there was this exciting new rave and hat.

Oluwatosin Oluwole Ajibade popularly known as Mr. Eazi, who gave the Nigerian music industry the toast that even all the big stars wanted him on their songs and his songs like anointing, hollup, sample you, etc. rotated in the clubs, evenings.

Shortly before the end of 2017, all the hype about Mr. Eazi seems to have disappeared. Let’s examine how this wonderful 2016 Headies winner was rated for someone struggling to gain relevance.

I guess these were the things that affected him:

PRIDE:

The popular saying pride goes before a fall is something that we can all see in Mr Eazi’s life as he has gone on twitter more than once to claim that he brought the Ghanaian vibe to Nigeria.

This didn’t go down well with many Nigerians as some artists have called him out and many Nigerians have since taken to different social media platform to troll him. This is something upcoming artists can learn from

INCONSISTENCY:

Yes, inconsistency, some people might disagree with me on this but after Mr Eazi dropped his “Accra to Lagos” mix tape we didn’t get any music from this dude till October/November.

For an artist as big as Mr Eazi and for someone who has failed to tie down a spot in the Nigerian industry ever since he became disliked by some Nigerians, some good music might have helped turn tables for him.

DRESS SENSE:

I think everyone will agree with me on this one as it is something which he has been criticised with back to back and his fans and followers are quick to call him out any time he posts some pictures.

LACK OF GOOD PR MANAGEMENT:

Mr Eazi problems started as a result of some tweets and his comments on shows and interviews. Now let us assume the singer had experts who were handling his social media accounts and also gave him interviews dos and Don’ts i don’t think he would be facing so much difficulties and backlash like he is facing.

What Do You Have To Say About This?

Reekado Won’t Apologise For Saying He Is Better Than Lil Kesh – Manager

The director and brother to Reekado Banks, Temi Solomon, insists that his artist is not sorry to say that he is a better artist than Lil Kesh.

It will be remembered that Reekado, when he was honored as the next artist at the 2015 Headies Awards, caused mixed reactions. Olamide, who was the head of Lil Kesh at the time, was furious that his artist did not win the prize.

While responding to Olamide’s public explosion, Don Jazzy (Reekados boss) said he was ready to let Olamide and his boy get the car if that annoyed them. This commentary degenerated into a war of words on the Internet before both parties were implored to sheathe their swords.

Two years after the ugly event, at his recent Thank You concert in Ibadan, Reekado declared in pidgin English that he is better than Lil Kesh and his father. He said, “I remember when they said I didn’t deserve the Next Rated award. The person that they said deserved the award, I am better than his father.”

When Sunday Scoop reached out to Reekado’s manager and brother over the statement, he said his brother only said what was on his mind, but he didn’t mean to hurt anyone

He said, “It is not something I want to talk about. If certain people were annoyed because he spoke his mind, I think those people are not his fans. Our fans would not complain about what he said in that manner. He didn’t mean to hurt or harm anyone and we don’t have something against the artiste (Lil Kesh).”

According to Temi, Banks was not misinterpreted, neither was he under any influence when he said he is better than Lil Kesh. He said, “If he said he is better than someone, he probably meant it. I really want to know the fans who were angry about it. Was it Reekado’s fans or the person’s fans? He said what was on his mind and it is not compulsory for everyone to agree with him.

“My Dad Arrested Me When I Left USA For Lagos To Face Music” – Davido

In his opinion, his father was not initially in favor of his decision to make music, and went even further when he returned to Nigeria to pursue his dreams. For a star like Davido, who obviously came from a wealthy house, one would think I never had to fight for anything.

Well it appears that the Fia crooner didn’t exactly have it easy especially when he gave up everything to delve into music. According to Atlanta born Nigerian singer, his father was not impressed when he left the US where he was studying Engineering to return to Lagos to pursue his music career. He said: “My dad didn’t like me doing music!” laughs D “If he saw my face on a billboard, he’d arrest everybody at that show! But when I made the song ‘Dami Duro’ [2011], it became the biggest track in Africa; it’s saying: ‘I’m the son of a rich man, you can’t stop me, and people love me.’ It now feels good for dad to see that music can take me this far.”

When asked about the awakening the western mainstream has experienced seeing that Afrobeat has inspired a lot of international artistes, Davido who has over 4 million followers online sited social media as the main reason.

According to him, “It’s the internet and social media,” replies Davido, with the assurance of someone who has Nigeria’s biggest Instagram account (5.5m followers). “I’m telling you, Nigerian people have a supportive force, and an amazing energy. Beyoncé and Kanye felt it on their visits, but Nigeria has always been very big on entertainment; when I was little, a big artist would come over to play every Christmas. Now the music industry in Nigeria is like a government ministry; it’s worth billions. There are so many artists in Nigeria that you might not have heard of, but trust me, they’re doing well.”

Speaking on the type of music and what inspires his sound, he said“In Nigeria, we all mix sounds together and collaborate; it’s natural,” He described his type of songs as “afrofusion”, with elements including hip-hop, Ghanaian high life, South African kwaito, and R&B. “It’s been generalised as afrobeats, but I have songs that sound like afropop, afrotrap.” he said.
